THE HOOD vs MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

OK, so things have been a little slow over here at the Hood, ABX and I have been doin the damn thing with our band May Or May Not, who are just about to drop our second full length album, A Kaleidoscope Of Egos. It's really nothing like anything we do here on the Hood (though there are some mash-up-like properties in some of the song interludes, which meld various themes and melodies from different songs on the album).

Anyway, if any of you Hood readers would like to check it out, we're gonna put it up for about a week or so. Also the CD release show is on Monday at Schubas in Chicago, we've been playing there every Monday this month as part of their "Practice Space" residency.

ENOUGH ABOUT YOU, LET'S TALK ABOUT US: Blender's Hot 100 of 2007 placed the Hood at #98, which you probably already know if we're Myspace friends. Additionally: Pitchfork showed us some love while simultaneously treating us, Gorilla vs Bear opted to crank dat blogosphere, the Missingteefs posted up the Pack mixtape like a year ago, plus a bunch of other blogs have shown us some love, which totally rules, thanks for continuing to listen to AND keep posting about our shit, including the homey Capn Design, who just got engaged (matty u did that).
