The Celebration track was one of my favorites of the year, but there wasn't much from that song to work with because she sings over pretty much the entire thing. It's really all about the crazy drums on the outro anyway, so I kept that. I couldn't stand that 'wheels on the bus' chorus on the Lil Mama track, so I cut it. Is it poppin'? Maybe.

Cokemachineglow just dropped their 2007 Fantasy Covers Podcast and it is the hotness. It features a bunch of exclusive covers/remixes of songs from the past year by artists such as Marissa Nadler, Deer Tick, and The Main Drag.

And it also includes a brand new Hood Internet track that mixes Huey's "Pop, Lock and Drop It" with samples from 2007 tracks by The White Stripes, LCD Soundsystem, Justice, Yeasayer, Andrew Bird, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Simian Mobile Disco, Modest Mouse, Chromatics, Feist, Jens Lekman, Spoon, Battles, Calvin Harris, Air, Professor Murder, Les Savy Fav, Digitalism, Aesop Rock, Shop Boyz, and Soulja Boy (yooooooouuuuuuuuuu!).

Before deciding to mix Kels's "Rock Star" with Jens Lekman it was mixed with Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew. In a lot of ways this felt like the poor man's "I'm a Flirt (Shoreline)" and this was after I had already declared T-Pain vs Cloud Cult to be the poor man's "Flirt (Shoreline)." Either way, it was a good year for poor men.

For a variety of reasons, there are some Hood Internet tracks that just don't make it to the show. We're hooking the world up with a special behind the scenes look at the tracks that weren't in 2007.

Since both the Ludacris and Rilo Kiley (who are, according to Blender, officially less hot than us in '07) tracks were called Money Maker this was an easy choice that just didn't come together as easily as I had hoped. After going back and fixing up some things, it's working better than it did when I gave up on it, but it still feels like a reject.
