This is the last of our leftover tracks from 2010 that should probably have never seen the light of day. Kanye made my favorite album of the year, so I went and messed that up by throwing some Journey on it.
Hope you all had nice holiday time, whether recently or earlier this month or whenever the fuck you celebrate. Now let's get back to our annual digital cutting room floor. The title alone on this one was questionable, as most permutations of "In Love With Yo Booty" and "Theme From In Between" resulted in a pause. Also questionable: the mix itself!
NEW YEARS EVE + NEW YEARS DAY: If we haven't scared you off with this year's installation of nonsense, don't forget we have TWO shows this weekend. The first is on New Years Eve (Friday) at the Marriott City Center in Minneapolis with Brother Ali. It's a benefit for the music programs at Robbinsdale Cooper High School in MPLS. More details here. The weekend continues on Saturday in Chicago, where we'll be at Lincoln Hall with Tobacco, Elite Gymnastics, and Sparkletone. (Discounted admission if you're already attending Lincoln Hall's NYE show with Flosstradamus.)
This one was pretty close, but the keys between the two songs were different enough that Ursher's vocals were pitched up maybe one step too far. Didn't sound enough like this.
We continue our annual tradition of closing out the year with some of our tracks that didn't make the cut throughout the past twelve months. We kick things off with some Bradley Nowell, a heavy dose of Auto-Tune, a Nicki Minaj beat that samples Annie Lennox, and a guitar solo borrowed from this guy on YouTube. Lots of awesome things, but maybe not so awesome together.
Another track off the Anatomy MagazineMixtape. Go here to get the whole thing. (Requires free signup for Anatomy. It's a good read.)
VOTE: Our sidepiece blog Album Tacos is up for an award at URLesque. Today is the last day of voting, and you can vote as many times as you want. Help the Internet.
